About The Author

I'm the Log Cabin Kitty and I'm sittin' mighty pretty. I live in a village from a long time ago.

TCU Press' newest children's book, Log Cabin Kitty, originated from 19 years of field trips to the Log Cabin Village in Fort Worth, Texas.

Donna Rubin, a former first grade teacher, reminded her students to watch for the friendly cats at the village as they toured the cabins each fall. Pepper, the oldest feline member of the village, was often spotted either curled up by a cozy fire or dozing on a docent's lap.

Mrs. Rubin, a fifth generation Texan, currently resides in Michigan with her husband and the cutest dog in the world. Her proudest accomplishment is the raising of her two wonderful daughters. Donna dedicates her first book to her loving family for their endless support and pioneer spirit.
